Photography of Mark Allen
I was born in Damariscotta,Maine and grew up in Jefferson,Maine. at the head of Damariscotta Lake on Davis stream. A very popular spot as local kids would spend lots of hot summer days jumping off the bridge, canoeing, fishing and just having good old outdoor fun.I was 7 when we moved and It was a short walk to the grade school, the Jefferson Market and to the beach, all a big plus for my parents.

In 1979 I entered the US Navy after high school to be a Machinist Mate on SSBN submarines, serving most of my time in Charleston, SC. Ten years into that career with attained custody of my two kiddos(2&3) I moved on to Bath Iron Works as a machine operator on the newly built Navy ships for five years then on to where I have landed and remained for 23 years, at Fisher Engineering, home of the Fisher Snow Plow.

Photography was something handed down to me from my father. He taught me all the rules and so many tricks back in the time of film which is so easily applied to digital..This is my hobby,my passion,my joy especially when what I capture puts a smile on or brings a happy tear. I love sharing the great outdoors with all that enjoy seeing what I see..

I now reside in Newcastle with my wonderful wife, Kelley. We both love the outdoors and photography in the same way along with my kiddos, Michael, Ashley, Kaitlin and Logan. My favorite places to shoot in Maine..Katahdin Iron Works area, Acadia and Baxter Park, Bar Harbor and Western Maine. So pretty much all of it.. I hope you enjoy my website and feel free to purchase any photo at anytime.
